Game Jam Albania is an intense, 48-hour creative marathon where passionate individuals from diverse backgrounds — including game developers, digital artists, writers, musicians, and designers — come together to build original games from scratch. This unique event is more than just a race against the clock — it’s a vibrant, collaborative experience that fuels innovation, encourages experimentation, and fosters a sense of community among Albania’s growing network of game creators. Whether it’s a simple 2D concept or a complex 3D world, each team works intensively to bring their vision to life, often surprising themselves with how much they can achieve in such a short time. Throughout the weekend, participants get mentorship, attend workshops, and receive feedback to improve their skills. Game Jam Albania serves as a launchpad — helping creators test ideas, build portfolios, and take their first steps into game development.

Participants: Over 100 talented individuals took part in this year’s jam, with 35% women, reflecting a continued push toward diversity in the Albanian game dev scene. The event featured 12 regional mentors, 12 teams, and produced 10 unique game prototypes in just 48 hours.
Activities: Game Jam 2024 expanded beyond the weekend jam with school info sessions, hands-on workshops led by regional experts, and a closing awards ceremony attended by senior representatives from EU4Innovation and the Agency for Creative Industries adding institutional support and visibility to the event.
Major Achievement: The winning team earned an exclusive opportunity to attend Gamescom 2024 in Germany one of the largest gaming conferences in the world representing Albania’s growing creative talent on the international stage.
Participants: Over 60 creatives from across the region joined the jam, with an impressive 40% being women showcasing the growing inclusivity in the local game development scene. The event brought together 10 regional mentors and 10 dedicated teams, resulting in the creation of 9 original game prototypes in just 48 hours.
Impact: With 100+ applications, the event helped cultivate valuable skills, foster teamwork, and strengthen community engagement around game design and development in Albania.
Media Reach: Game Jam Albania 2023 was featured in 6 national and digital media outlets, generating more than 20,000 views across social media platforms, boosting visibility for local talent.
Highlights: The jam concluded with 3 winning teams being recognized and rewarded for their creativity, execution, and innovation. Their projects stood out and marked a high point in this year’s showcase of talent.
